Fancy Chick!

Hi! Here's a card I made for my lovely friend, who keeps chickens! It's a digistamp, printed out and smooshed into inks, then layered onto the card. I added silvery white detail with a white gel pen, then a clear star gel pen over the top.

Unicorn Obsession...

Hiya! Here's another unicorn card, made for one of my closet friends. I used the same unicorn image as in my last card, but made a more CAS version of the card. I coloured the unicorn by smooshing inks onto acetate and squishing the image into the inks. When dry, I cut the unicorn out and layered him onto the card. I used a Wink of Stella pen and a Gelly Roll clear star pen to colour the mane, wings and tail. The sentiment is a bit silly, but when drunk my friend and I have often referred to each other as 'bestest' friends, so the made-up word 'fabulouser' seemed apt!

You Stamped With What??

Hiya! There's a challenge over at Shopping Our Stash at the moment, to stamp with something that isn't a stamp! I was determined to come up with something for this, but it took a bit trial and error, and I'm still deciding whether I like the results or not... well, at least it's unique! There's a photo of the 'stamps' at the bottom of the post!

I stamped with the head of a screw, and used that to make flowers, adding Nuvo Drops to the centres. I drew the stems and leaves with a black pen. For the first card, I used the bottom of a pencil sharpener for a vase, then coloured it with Promarkers. In the second card I used the bottom of an oval perfume bottle (masking the top and bottom) to make the outline of vases, and coloured with inks. Here's what I made:

Drenched Painted Harvest Flowers

Hi! I can't put these SU stamps down! Here's another card, colours inspired by the current MFT challenge, although after spritzing with so much water, it's hard to see the pink, and some of the orange has become yellow. I love how the colours have spread, though! I used oxides, which has made the flowers look even softer :)

Ruby

Hi. My lovely neighbour Ruby passed away on Friday. She had been ill for a few months, and in hospital with pneumonia for the last couple of weeks, but it was still a shock. She was such a lovely lady, and she used to look after our cats while we were away. She loved baking, and often popped round with cakes for us. We have known her for 17 years, and the street won't be the same without her.

I wanted to make a Sympathy card for her family, but I find them so difficult. You want them to somehow express how you feel, and they'll always fall short. I ended up trying a couple of designs, but went with the one with the vase of flowers in the end. I suppose that although they are difficult to make, sympathy cards are also a bit of therapy, giving you something to do when you feel so sad and empty.

Anyway, here are the cards I made:

More Distress Oxide Trees

Hiya! I am completely obsessed with Distress Oxides! I have been making backgrounds with different colour combinations, using the watercolour smooshing technique, then spritzing with Glimmer Mist. I stamp the trees onto the backgrounds and fussy cut them out. After gluing them to the cards, I have added detail with a glitter pen and some Nuvo Drops.

Here are a few I have made:

Reindeer Baubles

Hi! Here are a couple of cards I made using Distress Oxides for the background. I am so addicted to oxides now, I think I need to buy some more colours! I have 14 so far, which seems a lot, but urggg... I just want them all!

The first card has a liberal spray of Glimmer Mist on the background, but I left the second one as it was. I layered the bauble die cut over the background, adding a bit or torn card under the reindeer's feet, for a snowy bank. I used 3D squares to fix the bauble to the card, and added a bow to the top. The bows took me ages! I am so rubbish at tying bows, damn faffy things. I might have to get one of those bow maker things.

Anyway, here are the cards:
