Dropped in a Puddle of Glimmer Mist!?

Hi! Still smooshing Distress Oxides around, and generally making a mess, I made this card using colours inspired by the challenge at Sunday Stamps. I didn't have a teal colour in my collection of Oxides (oooh, do I need to go shopping?) so I used normal Distress ink with Candied Apple Distress Oxide, and they worked really well together. I love this smooshing technique! When it was dry, I fixed it behind a die cut frame, and added a die cut dandelion with a gem for the centre. I stamped the sentiment at the bottom of the card, and then decided to add 'a little' Glimmer Mist. Unfortunately, I got a bit carried away and ended up drenching the whole thing. It has a lovely shimmer now, but the sentiment has blurred a little, and I'm not sure if the overall effect is 'nice and shimmery' or 'dropped in a puddle'. But anyway, here's the card:

I'm entering this one in the following challenges:

Sunday Stamps:
Sweet Stampin': 'Sparkle and Shine'
Seize the Birthday:
Watercooler Wednesday:

Ingredients:
Distress Oxide Ink: Candied Apple
Distress Ink: Peacock Feathers
Spellbinders 'Make a Wish' die
'Birthday Wishes' sentiment from Woodware 'Daisy Panel'
Crystal Parade gem: Clear
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist (a bucket load of it...)

Wow, Jen! Maybe dropping one's card into a puddle of Glimmer Mist is the next new popular technique. You certainly wound up with amazing results when it inadvertently happened to you. Love that smooshing of Oxide ink with regular Distress ink. The results are gorgeous. Adding the Glimmer Mist certainly softened the look and must look dazzling in real life. Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.

Those oxide inks sound like they're a great new tool. I think your card looks "nice and shimmery", not dropped in a puddle. Either way it's a great card with a beautiful mix of colours and shine. Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week and sharing your delightful card.

I didn't know that you could mix the oxides with the regular distress inks. This worked very well. You were able to catch the shine in your picture. Thanks for sharing with us at Seize the Birthday, where this week, anything goes. Hope to see you again.
