Christmas Jumpers

Hi! Here are some cards I made for friends and relatives this year - I'm always so disorganised and send out my cards really late, but these were quite quick to make, which took the stress off a bit!

I found clipart images of a sweater and a reindeer, layered them and printed them off. I coloured with promarkers and then added eyes and nose with Nuvo Drops. I used Nuvo Drops on the trim of the jumper too.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

Lavinia Christmas!

Hi! Here's another fairy Christmas card, made with Lavinia stamps. As usual, I coloured with ink dusters. I used a Wink of Stella pen on the moon, and Glamour Dust on the wings, stars and snow drifts.

Working on my Wintery Skies

Hi! Here's another card using my cat digi from Vectorstock. I've added more colours into the sky, to get that wintery sunset look. I added glamour dust to the branches and snow drifts, for some sparkle.

Folded Trees

Hi! I've made a few cards, inspired by this week's Muse challenge:

I've used the CAS style and wavy line as inspiration in my cards. I masked the line and coloured with ink dusters. I made the trees by folding a scalloped semi-circle, and then adding bauble with Nuvo Drops.

And Yet Another Glittery Fairy Christmas Card

Hi! Here's another moon fairy card. For this one, I masked the moon and wings, and added the background with ink dusters, but I only coloured around the moon, rather than the whole card. I used promarkers for the moon and wings. I used a Wink of Stella pen to add sparkle to the moon, and Glamour Dust on the wings.

Glittery Fairy Christmas Card

Hi! I've made a few versions of the same card in different colours, and added some subtle embossed snowflakes to one of them, which I think is my favourite. I find it really hard to get my Christmas cards finished in time for Christmas, so making a few of the same card really helps to combat my poor organisational skills...

For this card, I masked the moon and wings, and added the background with ink dusters. I used promarkers to colour the moon and wings, and used a Wink of Stella pen to add sparkle.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

Addicted to Stamps: 'Make Your Mark'

CAS-ual Fridays: 'Glitter and Snowflakes'

Sweet Stampin': 'Let It Snow'

HLS CAS: 'Favourite Technique' - Masking! I love using ink dusters and sponging to create backgrounds, and masking ensures I don't accidentally colour my image! It is worth the faff of cutting the images out :)

Christmas Cat

Hi! Here's another Christmas card. It's only 4x4 inches and fairly quick to make with a simple sky and a couple of snow banks. I'm trying to come up with quicker designs so that my Christmas cards get made BEFORE Christmas. Mine are usually late, and are still being made during the Christmas holidays...

Christmas Moon Fairy

Hi! Here's a Christmas card I made with one of my favourite Lavinia stamps! I masked the moon and fairy wings, and then used ink dusters to create the sky. I used a watercolour brush to colour the moon and wings, and then add the shimmer to the wings with a Wink of Stella brush.

Paper Trees

Hi! I have been trying to make quick, smallish Christmas cards, because I'm always late with making my cards, and have to send them in the New Year :-s. Here are a couple of designs I've been trying out. They're just 4x4 inches.

These first one is made by folding a scalloped semi-circle to make the tree. I added 'baubles' with Nuvo Glitter Drops.

I used paper piecing with a digi stamp for this one, and used the same patterned paper as a frame.
I added a bit of glitter with Nuvo Glitter Drops.

Time Out: 'Christmas with an Optional Twist of Glitter/Shimmer'

Another Snowflake Tree...

Hi! I made another card with the same stencil, but I clear embossed the snowflakes before adding the green ink, which has worked better - much brighter snowflakes!

Less Is More: 'Emboss Resist Technique'

Simon Says Stamp: 'O' Christmas Tree'

Snowflake Tree

Hi! For this card, I used ink dusters over a stencil colour the tree, and then added snowflakes with white ink and embossed them with clear. The white ended up a little muddy, but I quite like the texture.

I LOVE This Cat Fabric!

Hi! I made this a few weeks ago, and although it's very simple, I am extremely proud of it. It has a lining, and I had to iron fabric bonding stuff onto it to give it a firmer shape, and it even has 2 fully lined pockets!

I absolutely love the fabric, too :)

I made this using a brilliant tutorial, here. It looks much fancier than mine, but I LOVE mine still... :)

And... Another Bag!

Hiya! I spent ages planning this bag and fretting over it. I bought the sample pack of squares and spent ages faffing with layouts, but ended up getting some plain blue fabric so that I just had a patchwork panel, so it wouldn't be too busy.

I used a plain grey fabric for a lining. I guess you have to line a bag when it's patchwork, to hide all the messy seams. It took me ages to make (after weeks of planning...), but I love it, and hopefully the next one will be quicker to make!

Some of the patchwork panel didn't quite lie flat and was a bit uneven, but fortunately it doesn't seem to show now the bag is made up - phew!

Bags!

Hi! I made these back in June, but had forgotten to post them. Sorry about the photos - quick snaps on my phone.

Simple tote bags, but I'm really pleased with them, and they're good practise for me, gotta get the hang of sewing in straight lines...

I absolutely love this cat fabric! I have it in reds too, but prefer the black & white. My lovely friend Debbie bought this bag from me, even though I did warn her that I was a beginner and that the seams were wonky...

I made this one for my mum. She loves birds - well, all animals and nature, really - and she chose this fabric from the couple of bird fabric samples I had. She's using it, hopefully not just out of politeness, and it hasn't fallen apart, so that's good :D

Belated Birthday Card :(

Hi! It was my Aunt's birthday last Sunday, and I forgot :(  I feel awful about it, and am still fretting about what to buy her, but at least I've made a card now.

I used a digistamp from All Dressed Up, and printed it onto patterned paper as well as the white cardstock. I cut out the dress, head band and butterflies from the patterned paper and layered it onto the image. I coloured the rest of the image with Promarkers, and added a little bit of glitter to the butterflies. I really really really don't like fussy cutting, as it is so faffy and I'm not very good at it, but I like the result. I hope my aunt will like it! :)
