Birthday Blooms

Hi! Here's another card I made, inspired again by the CC&S sketch, and also by the colours at YNS. I masked the card except for the wavy section, and then stamped the image. I added some background colour with ink dusters, then water coloured the flowers and leaves. I added some Nuvo Drops for a bit of texture, and also because I'm a bit obsessed with Nuvo Drops at the moment.

I'm entering this in the following challenges:

Orange Blossoms

Hi! Here's a card I made today, inspired by the colour challenge at Sunday Stamps and the sketch at CAS Colours & Sketches.

I masked the top and bottom of the card so only the ribbon shape was showing, and then stamped and coloured with inks. I added Nuvo Drops to the flower centres, which is making me hungry because the silver reminds me of the edible silver balls you get on cupcakes... It doesn't take much to remind me of food, to be honest, and it's worse at the moment, as I'm on a diet...

Vases of Spring Flowers

Hi! Here are a couple of cards I made today, using different colour schemes.

I added white centres to the flowers with Nuvo Drops, but strangely the dots have taken on some colour from the flowers. I'm thinking maybe the ink wasn't completely dry when I added the drops, although the card was dry enough to punch the flowers. So the centres aren't as bright as I'd intended, but I quite like the effect!

Valentine Flowers

Hi! Here's a Valentine's card I made, using heart punches borrowed from my lovely friend Linda. I probably ought to give them back at some point, and buy my own! I love this folk heart shape, and the 2 sizes means you can layer them up :)  I finished off each flower with a little heart gem.

Birthday Pengwing

Hi! Here's a quick birthday card for my friend Linda. It's a bit silly - she loves penguins but she pronounces 'penguin' as 'pengwing', and we tease her about it. So, here's a pengwing card!

I used a clipart penguin, and printed it on the lower half of a piece of cardstock so that I could fold it at the top to form a card. Once folded, I cut around the image to make a penguin-shaped card. I printed off two more penguin images, then cut and layered up the white part of his body and the beak. I printed the sign with added sentiment, cut it out and added a bit of shading, then attached it to the penguin's wing.

Vellum Flower

Hi! Here's a card inspired by this week's Muse challenge! It took a few attempts, as I tried to use punched flowers (I hate cutting out!), but they were too small and looked weird. So I stamped a larger flower on vellum and embossed it with glittery gold & white embossing powder. I made the background with ink dusters over a dotty stencil and masked circle, then stamped and coloured the leaves. I added a tiny punched flower to the centre of the vellum flower, and coloured it with inks. I used Nuvo Glitter Drops for the centre.

Time for Another Cuppa

Hi! Here's another card using my teapot stamp, but this time I masked the teapot and used a stencil and ink dusters to create the background. You can read the sentiment more clearly that way!

The Paper Players: 'Black + White + any one colour'

Ingredients:
Paper Sweeties stamp set: 'Tea for Two'
Artistry Ink pads: Indian Jamun

Tea with a friend

Hi! I wanted to enter this week's Less Is More challenge, and decided to break out this new stamp! I wasn't sure how to colour it, as the image is quite cartoony, so I stamped the teapot on scrap paper and cut it out, making a stencil to mask the background, and then coloured with ink dusters. I used a floral stencil on top of the mask, to give the tea pot a design. I hope I didn't overdo it - not sure how easy it is to read the sentiment!

I am an unashamed tea addict, guzzling at least 9 or 10 mugs a day, and can't imagine life without it. I also think that a cup of tea and a chat can be a wonderful thing, and is a very important thing to be able to offer to anyone who's not having a great time with things, which is why I was attracted to this stamp when I saw it! I hope my friends know that I am definitely there for them whenever they need tea and a chat. A lot of the time there's not much you can do for someone you care about except listen (and make them a cuppa), but I think that is a very useful thing to do.

Anyway, here's my card:
