New Daisies!

Hi! I bought a stamp set last week after falling in love with some cards I saw on Pinterest. It arrived yesterday and I love it so much! Here's a card I made for the Tuesday Throwdown challenge: 'Favourite Colour'. I love blues and purples, and my favourite colour is a kind of inky blue that's somewhere between blue and purple.

I made the card by stamping the outline in black, then inking up the filler stamp in blue and purple, then spritzing a couple of times with water before stamping. I love the simplicity of the result!

My lovely mate Debbie has got a similar stamp set to this, and she used a shimmer spray to smudge the inks. Really beautiful result... I am going to have to copy her and give that a try!

Anyway, here's my card:

Ingredients:
Stamps By Me: Amazing Daisy set
Artistry Inks: Indian Jamun, Blue Chase

Trying out new dies!

Hiya! Here's a card I made using a couple of dies I bought last month, but hadn't had chance to use. I cut a stitched square and then used the hearts border across the top. I made a background with Distress Oxides and Glimmer Mist, cut a small strip for a border, cut the sentiment, and used the rest behind the die cut hearts. I used red, pink and orange, but I might make another with deep, rich reds instead. I glued the border and sentiment on, and added some of the little hearts from the die cut.

Drenched Painted Harvest Flowers

Hi! I can't put these SU stamps down! Here's another card, colours inspired by the current MFT challenge, although after spritzing with so much water, it's hard to see the pink, and some of the orange has become yellow. I love how the colours have spread, though! I used oxides, which has made the flowers look even softer :)

Pink Painted Harvest Flowers

Hi! Here's another card I made with my new SU set. I love these flowers! I wanted to try them in pink, inspired by the current Card Concept challenge, but then I saw the Cupcake Inspirations challenge, and decided to try using those colours - I would never have thought about putting them together before, but I love how the card has turned out! I used Stickles for a bit of sparkle in the centre of the flowers.

Watercolour Painted Harvest

Hi! Here's another card made with the Painted Harvest set - I'm obsessed. I didn't really have a plan when I started this one. I cut a panel of watercolour paper, and wanted to see how the stamps looked when using really wet ink and letting it bleed. I spritzed some red Brushos with water, plonked my stamps in, and stamped on the watercolour paper. It looked pretty, but lost too much detail, so I dried the paper, and tried inking up the stamp, then spritzing that with water before stamping. That held more detail, and looked really pretty. You can see those flowers behind the clearer ones. I dried the paper again, then stamped without spritzing, to just get a normal image. I love the watercolour background behind the clear flowers!

Painted Harvest

Hi! I've been drooling over the Stampin' Up! Painted Harvest set for a while, and my lovely mate Debbie found it on eBay for me... would've been rude not to buy it! Here are a couple of cards I made with it. I masked the panel and then stamped the flowers. On the purple one, I added some leaves, and used an ink duster to colour some of the background green. On the blue one, I added mica powder to the flower centres and to the inked blue card border, but it's hard to see the shimmer in the photos.
