Sunset Snowstorm

Hiya. I made another card using the Lavinia 'tree' stamp, but wanted to use more colours, so I made this one with a sunset. I added Nuvo Glitter drops to the tree, but they don't show up very well in the photo. They look lovely though, like glittery baubles, and they keep their 3D shape :)

Squiggly Christmas Trees

Hiya! I recently bought a new Lavinia stamp, which I think is really designed to be for trailing foliage, but in the Lavinia For You FB group I saw someone use it as a Christmas tree, and it looks beautiful! So I had to have a go... I stamped the 'tree', and then masked off the panel, and used torn paper, ink dusters and inks to create the background. I added some 3D sparkle with Nuvo Glitter Drops, and then added snow by using watered-down gouache, flicked at the card. Yes, it went everywhere! But I love the effect. Thanks very much to Debbie for helping me with the technique! xx

The Magic of Unicorns

Hi! Friends of ours have a lovely little daughter who is completely obsessed with unicorns, as every sensible person should be... So I made them a unicorn Christmas card using a Lili of the Valley image, coloured with inks and sparkled with a clear star gel pen. I added some glittery Nuvo Drops to the santa hat, for even more glitter! The photos aren't great, as they were taken in a hurry, but you get the idea :)

I also had loads of fun making some 'unicorn poo' for her. It's made with various glitters, nuvo drops, and glow in the dark powder. You should have seen the state of my desk afterwards... but hopefully she will like it! I made the label with a bit of torn paper, edged with a Clear Star gel pen.

I'm entering this in the following challenges, hoping it is allowed!:

Bottled Christmas Wishes

Hi! I used to make 'Magic Pills' bottles, filling them with chocolates, and adding a label which would mean they had magical properties, such as 'Protection from Spiders', 'Self Confidence', or whatever seemed appropriate for the recipient.

I was trying to work out how to make some Christmas cards with the same kind of idea, and this is what I came up with. I filled the tiny glass bottles with glue, glitter glue, nuvo drops, loose glitter, ink and glow in the dark pigment powder. I glued the cork in, so the bottle could be removed from the card and used as a tree decoration, or a pendant. I printed off some tiny labels, tore the edges and glued them on, then went around the edges with a glitter gel pen.

The blurry photos are where I've tried to show them glowing in the dark!

Inky Splats & Christmas Trees

Hiya! Here's a card I made with my new splat stamp, which I LOVE! It's a great way of creating a quick inky background by splodging some distress oxides on it, spritzing and then stamping. When it was dry, I stamped the trees and coloured them with inks and gel pens.
