Ombre

Hi! Here's a card inspired by the Less Is More challenge 'Ombre' and the sketch for the Fusion challenge.

I masked the central panel and coloured the borders with ink dusters. I then added the flower stamps, coloured the lower ones with a deeper blue, and used a water brush with no ink to remove some colour from the flowers at the top. I used Nuvo drops for the centres of the flowers.

Seeing Double

Hi! My cards often come in twos, sometimes threes. I'm not sure if it counts as cheating, as far as challenges are concerned, as the cards are the same design, different colours, but I often find it difficult to choose my colours, so making a couple of variations is a good way to get around the problem. It also helps me to build up my card stash faster!

So here's another tulip card (I love this new stamp!), this time using red and yellow inks, and I held back on the bling this time, just adding one gem to the butterfly.

Thinking of Tulips

Hi! Here's a card I made today, breaking out a new Woodware stamp! I stamped the tulips, then coloured with inks and a water brush. I added some extra detail with a white pen, to brighten it up. I got a bit carried away with the gems, and I'm not sure if I've overdone it...

Scrap Papers

Hi! Here are a couple of cards inspired by the 'Scrap Papers' challenge at 4 Crafty Chicks. I used a Woodware stamp I bought at the NEC Hobbycrafts show in November but hadn't got round to using before. I stamped the flowers and grass section onto scraps of patterned paper and pieced them onto the white cardstock. I added some gems for a bit of shine.

Ice Flowers

Hi! It's absolutely freezing here, so here's a card with ice flowers! I coloured the flowers with Promarkers, and then added gems and Nuvo glitter drops to try to make them look frost-covered and icy.

Another JOFY one

Hi! Here's another one I made yesterday, which is quite similar, but a different background.

I stamped and masked the flowers, stencilled the daisies, and used ink dusters for the rest of the background, masking a circle for the sun. Then I coloured the flowers with inks and a water brush. I added some white Nuvo Crystal Drops to add a bit of texture. I made some of the dots larger to give a bit of variety, but I'm not sure if it works or just looks odd... on the card in my last post, all the dots are within the black lines, which accentuates them. I might add some black round the larger dots on this card, see if that looks better!

JOFY Stamps

Hi! I have wanted to get my hands on some JOFY stamps for quite a while, and I finally got a set just before Christmas! I had a go with them for the first time yesterday, and now I just want more of them :-s  They stamp really well, and I love the style.

I made this card by stamping and masking the flowers, then stencilling background flowers. I filled in the rest of the background colour with ink dusters, masking the sun. Then I coloured the flowers with inks and a water brush. I added some small white Nuvo Crystal Drops to add a bit of texture.
