Glass Fusing!

Hiya! A few of us did a glass fusing course the other week, and I just got my makes bag - I LOVE THEM! They were so much fun to make, we're already planning on another session in the spring :D  Anyway, here's what I made:

My reindeer don't look like they have noses - I used dark red transparent glass. I painted it white underneath, hoping that that would make it show up, but I'm not sure it worked that well! But if you look at them more closely, they DEFINTELY have noses!

Here's a photo of us all (except Sanj, who took the pic), elbow deep in glass & glue!

Practice Bag for the Mum In Law

Hiya! My Mum in Law has asked me to make her another bag, and she liked the Holly Hobo pattern, but with a zip instead of a magnetic snap. I thought I'd better make a practice version before using her fabric, as I haven't made this bag before, and I wasn't sure how to add the zip. So here's my practice bag! It's not perfect, and I'll be able to do the zip better next time, now I know how to do it, but I'm quite pleased with how it's turned out.

Cork Purse Obsession

Hi! I thought I'd make a little purse out of cork, but couldn't decide which cork fabric to use. I got a bit carried away! But I think they're really cute, and would be useful to clip onto a belt, or give to someone with a gift card inside.

These were adapted from the Cork Fabric Card Wallet pattern on www.sewcanshe.com.

Elephant Cork Zippy Pouch

Hi! Here's a cork pouch I made a few days ago, to got with a Koda bag I made a while back. This is the first time I've made one of these pouches with cork, and I love it! I though the cork might be a bit too stiff for something small, but it's fine. I want to make more of these!

This is based on a free pattern, the Flat bottom straight(ish) sides zippy pouch, from Very Berry Handmade, although I do the zip tabs a little bit differently.

Elephant Cork Koda Bag

Hi! This elephant cork fabric is the first cork I ever bought, but it took me ages to bring myself to cut into it, it's so beautiful! But I finally decided to use it, and I love this bag! It's the first bag that I've made with 100% cork for the exterior, and I think it works really well. I used sakura blossom fabric for the lining.
