Been trying out a new digistamp, from Milk N Coffee Digital Stamps.

I used 3D Crystal Clear Lacquer on the water to make it look wet, and added stickles to the blossoms.

Happy Birthday Flowers

Made a birthday card with a flowery digi, and blinged it with gems and stickles:

I'm entering this in the 4 Crafty Chicks challenge 'No Stamping', and the Wags 'n' Whiskers challenge 'Anything Goes'.

Charm Bracelet Card

I wanted to make a card for the Less is more challenge 'How Charming', so I've used a charm bracelet digi stamp. I've sewn some silver thread on part of the bracelet strands, and '3D'ed some of the beads. I've used a silver pen and stickles on some of the small beads, and Crystal Clear Lacquer on the red beads to make them stand out. I added 3 small silver plated beads and a silver daisy charm. I hope it is CAS enough, and not too fussy! I had fun making it, anyway, so I might make a couple more in different colours :)

I'm also entering this in the Paper Pretties challenge 'Clean & Simple', the Simon Says Stamp challenge 'Anything Goes', and the Stamptacular challenge 'Loaded with Layers'.

Glass Beads

A few weeks ago I had a go at making some glass beads, for the first time in nearly a year. I was really gutted that they turned out all wonky, and I'd forgotten how to make them. Anyway, I had another go a couple of days ago, and I'm much happier with them. I can't seem to do the flowers like I used to, but hopefully it will come back. At least these ones are rounder than the last batch :)

I've got a craft day at Crafty Distraction's on Saturday, so I might make a couple of bracelets with some of these :)

Steampunk daisies

Here are a couple of steampunk daisy cards, made with cogs from old watches, and covered with crystal clear r:

Having a go at some Steampunk

Inspired by the Anything Goes challenge 'Time or Steampunk', I've had a go at a steampunkish card. I used a digistamp, 3Ded the balloon and used Crystal Clear Lacquer to make it stand out.

I'm also entering this in the challenge: 4 Crafty Chicks 'Boys Dig It!'

More masking attempts

Still trying to get this masking fluid technique working - had another couple of goes at it, which I think are better than my first attempts. Still not a patch on the Bits & Pieces blog, though!

Doodling and attempts at using masking fluid

The Less is More challenge "Doodling" has got me thinking and scribbling. Inspired by the gorgeous cards on the Bits & Pieces blog, I've had a go at doodling over masking fluid, although it didn't work as well as I'd hoped :-s  I had fun doodling all the flowers and leaves, though :)

The lettering isn't as clear as I'd hope - I'll have another go, making the lettering thicker.

I made another using stamps, which I think works better:

For the Less is More challenge I've given up with masking fluid for now, and gone for a large printed sentiment with doodled flowers:

Crafternoon!

Had a great Crafternoon with the girls yesterday, making cards, jewellery and knitting! I had to photoshop Kelly in, as I didn't think of taking a photo of everyone until after she'd left :-s

I also forgot to take photos of the things we made! Oh, well. I only managed to remake a beaded necklace for someone, as it had broken.

Linda's cards might appear on her blog, here:
Helen's jewellery might appear on her blog, here:

Stamptacular Photo Inspiratiopn

Hiya!

I saw the Photo Inspiration challenge on Stamptacular, and thought I'd have a go. Here's the photo that the cards need to be inspired by.

I still haven't got over my ink dusters obsession, so I made a yellow version of the flower cards I've been making recently. I wouldn't normally think of making a yellow card, but I quite like how this one has turned out :)

More ink dusting and masking

Here are a few more cards, made with flower stamps and ink dusters:

I'm entering this last card in the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp "USE your FAVOURITE TOOL!!!!" (mine is ink dusters at the moment!)
Wags 'n Whiskers "Say it With Flowers!!"

Lily Pad "Flower Challenge"

Back after a long break!

It's taken me ages to get back on here. I intended to post some Christmas card photos, but I was even more disorganised than usual last Christmas, and barely got my cards finished and posted before New Year!

Since the NEC Hobbycraft show a few weeks ago, I've been obsessed with using brushes (ink dusters) to make inky backgrounds - it's much easier than battling with my brayer :-)  Here are a few of the cards I've been making over the last few days:

I am entering this one in the Less Is More 'Three Shades of Green' challenge.

I masked the area to ink and stamp, and clear embossed a couple of the images before using the ink dusters and stamping the image in different colours.

The ink dusters are also great for making backgrounds for my Lavinia stamps:

I'm entering this card in the By The Cute and Girly 'Once upon a time.....'  challenge, and the

Flutter By Wednesday challenge.
